Do children need to be saved?

Cindi and I are now working for Child Evangelism Fellowship, and, yes, we do evangelize children. We put on Good News Clubs in schools and soon we will be local directors in Citrus County. As evangelists, our job is to do what the Bible says evangelists are to do: “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11.

The goal of Child Evangelism Fellowship is to make sure every child hears a clear presentation of the Gospel. That can be hard to come by. This is partly because many Christians are confused about what the Gospel is, and what an evangelist is supposed to do. The Gospel is not an accusation against sinners and an evangelist is not that guy who castigates the crowd for their sins. The Gospel is the good news that God has paid for our sins with the blood of His own sinless Son so that all who believe in Him would be saved. And an evangelist is the person who  goes about announcing and explaining it to people who don’t understand it.
