If you are trying to come to grips with how we could have a toxic waste producer CONTINUE to pollute for 27 years after it gets named a Superfund site by the EPA, watch this!

I get creeped out by these urban planners and the commissioners who love them. We hear about narrowing Main Street as a way to create a bicycle and pedestrian friendly, more “livable” city. Then they make sure that only a select few can afford to live here.

Unlike the federal government, our cities can create an economy that is so bad that people will move away. Most of us cannot realistically move to South America or somewhere else to start over. But, people CAN move to a city with a lower cost of living, and a less expensive, intrusive government! I routinely meet people who “used to live in Alachua County”. They cite all the same problems with living here: high taxes and high prices. Many of these people are retired, which means they were not usually looking for jobs. Losing these people is a double whammy: they take their tax dollars and disposable income, and they weren’t even competing with us for work! Retirees are a big win for a community, but we run them off!

Vote for me on Tuesday for common sense government based on common sense economics!

“There is no fiscal responsibility without a new coal plant”

Craig Lowe wants us to burn biomass. This gives us higher rates and a crippled economy.

Monica Cooper is against biomass, but she is against the coal plant, too. She wants us to depend on solar, which is currently more expensive and less dependable: an economy killer.

Richard Selwach stresses balancing the budget, but without affordable energy it is a moot point. He is for more expensive natural gas. Good-bye Gainesville.

Ozzy Angulo has nothing meaningful to say about energy; as if it doesn’t matter.

As a little bonus, I include this new YouTube video I made yesterday!

I want to thank everyone who came out for this event. It looked like there were 500 people to me, but the Sun says 1,000, so who knows? I had yard signs and window clings available. We got donations and volunteers to sign up. It was a great event!

This video is a clip from my opening statement at the African American Accountability Alliance candidate forum on February 1. It’s what I would call “the elevator speech” about why I am running. There are many things to cover, like GRU and the tree-burning plant, but that came only a little bit later. There were no questions about it, so you had to try to squeeze that into the 90 seconds you were given to answer questions that really had 5 minute answers if you were going to come even close to doing them justice.

I gave this speech at the Tea Party Meeting in Jonesville yesterday. I talked about the willful act of voting…and making donations to my campaign!
